Imagine, you have just moved into your university accommodation. You have left your family and not trying to adjust to student life. Let’s be real, it can be really daunting to live in a new place but one of the best benefits is to share a flat is that everyone is in the same boat. You can follow the below-mentioned tips to turn our flatmates into friends which might last beyond your uni years.

Take the first step: There will be times that you will feel lucky enough to find a flatmate to introduce herself to me first. But sometimes it is quite vital for you to take the first phase and familiarize yourself with your flatmates. This will make you seem more amicable and the people will feel more contented talking to you. You are all in the same boat, living in a new place with new people, and you can feel quite nervous. Do not worry too much and you will be fine.

Look after yourself: Be brave and make the effort with as many people as possible, but do not be too hard on yourself if you have not met your next best friend by the end of any freshers’ week. If it is all getting a bit much do not be afraid to take some time for yourself by listening to music, watching movies, or even reading a book. You can keep checking your blog for more hints and tips to help you make the most of your time at your university.

Be respectful: It is important that you are respectful towards your family. Ensure that you start off on good footing and do not slam any doors on your way home after a night out. You can always ask the flatmates before having any guests over. They might have an essential deadline looming and need to focus. You can do your bit by finalizing all your errands, be it taking out the boxes or washing up after you have your restaurant-worthy mealtime. A clean flat means a happy flat.

Explore new things together: If you have heard about an event, then you can go there with your flatmates. You can head along as a group and also make some memories. Does your new roommate share one of your niche benefits? You can easily take benefit of all your mutual gratefulness for coffee and sign up for the public that you both heard about at the fresher's party. You can even make new friends when exploring new things. You can even start cooking together at your Student Accommodation Adelaide.

Look for something in common: Once you start talking you will understand where they are. However, you can easily share common benefits with your other roommates which can make you really close. You might love watching TV serials, musicals as well as different Netflix shows. You can bond over such things. Whenever you are free, you can watch shows together. You can also understand what are your hobbies. Is there a web series or movie which you are obsessed with? You can talk to other roommates and find out if anyone else shares the same interest as you, you can start a conversation and find out more about the flatmates.
